When installing a USB scanner, sometimes we find that this device can not be recognized by your computer. If you are facing this "USB scanner not recognized" problem, do you know how to fix it? You can follow the instructions below:

First of all you need to check whether the lock behind your scanner is open or not. If not, unlock it.

Two, if the secure lock has been opened already, but the system is still incapable of identifying your USB device, you can check if you have installed a scanner driver or if the driver is correct for your device.

Step 1 Find out your scanner model.

Step 2 Check Scanner driver in the Device Manager sheet.

Step 3 If you have not installed a driver yet, or the driver is incorrect, search on the website and download the supporting and latest driver for your USB scanner. Before installing the driver, uninstall the incorrect one. Note that when you install the driver, make sure it works well with your system.

Or if you think this job is boring and complicated, download a driver manager tool like PC Driver Helper to help you uninstall the bad driver, locate and install the best one for your device automatically just with several simple clicks.

Three, if your scanner driver is working exactly, then you should check whether your USB scanner has been disabled in BIOS. If so, restart the computer, enter the BIOS interface, and enable the "On chip USB" option in "Chipset Features Setup" or "Integrated Peripherals". Next save this operation and restart the system so as to enable the USB port on your motherboard.

Four, you can try to swap your scanner onto another USB port. Because if the cable order in this port is not right, it would also generate the failure above, which often happens in the motherboard's front USB port.

Five, your motherboard might not be compatible with your scanner's port, so you are unable to find out this device in your computer. To cancel it, you need to check the model of your motherboard chipset, download its latest driver or the corresponding motherboard USB patch from the website and then install this driver or patch.

Finally, I believe through the tips above, you can easily fix your issue.
